Thierry Poncelet
Born in Brussels in 1946, Thierry Poncelet studied at the St. Luc Academy and attended workshops with artist Max Massot. He mastered the art of meticulously restoring historic paintings, but some projects were less than inspiring. And he finally decided that one woman's portrait required a radical revision: He replaced her face with the mug of his dog, and the painting was an immediate hit. The rest, as they say, is history. You can see more of Poncelet's finely dressed canine aristocrats at his website.
